Local Employee Participation Council

The UAW and Chrysler agree that the success of each depends on involving employees and working together to jointly make the best-quality vehicles in the world.

To ensure that this occurs, the 1999 contract reaffirmed in Letters 124 and 30 that both UAW and Chrysler would fully participate in Local Employee Participation Councils.

Each facility has an LEPC, led by the UAW local president and the plant/location manager.

The LEPC is the umbrella for all UAW-Chrysler joint activities. It provides the leadership for planning and implementing joint activities to improve your location's safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale.

The LEPC directs and monitors the core UAW-Chrysler joint programs, including:

  • HEALTH AND SAFETY
  • PRODUCT QUALITY IMPROVEMENT (PQI)
  • EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)
  • TECHNOLOGY TRAINING CENTER (TTC)
  • MODERN OPERATING AGREEMENT (MOA)
  • LOCAL JOIN TRAINING
    AND ALL OTHER TRAINING PROGRAMS.

The handbook is designed to assist local LEPCs to organize and structure their operations, to increase employee participation in daily operations and to
involve everyone in increasing quality and productivity.
