The UAW-Chrysler Tuition Assistance Plan (TAP) is available to active UAW-represented FCA US LLC seniority employees.
TAP provides eligible workers with financial assistance to take job-related, degree-seeking courses at nationally and regionally accredited educational institutions. In addition, workers may take approved Labor Study courses.
Educational institutions must be preapproved by the TAP committee to be eligible. Payments for tuition and appropriate fees will be made directly to the educational institution, or if the institution does not accept vouchers, will be made to the employee as a reimbursement for eligible out-of-pocket expenditures.
Employees are responsible for all tuition and fees for course(s) dropped after the institution’s add/drop period. Situations that occur beyond the employee’s control will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Members may appeal a decision to the TAP Committee.
To be eligible for tuition assistance, a worker must be a UAW-represented FCA US employee with seniority on the active rolls or on temporary layoff. Employees on sick leave are not eligible for TAP.
Employees may receive up to $5,000 per year. In no event shall the total assistance to an employee exceed $5,000 per calendar year. Each course will be reviewed by TAP administrators to determine whether it is eligible. Employees have the right to appeal denied degree or course requests.
Retiree Tuition Assistance remains suspended.
