Youth School-to-Work Program

What they don’t tell you in high school . . .

Open to high school-age dependents of UAW-DaimlerChrysler workers, the program introduces students to the skilled trades. It gives them hands-on experience with C.A.T.I.A., the computer-aided design technology used in the auto industry. The program prepares students to take the math portion of the ACT and SAT exams, and students also learn essential job skills, such as customer service and business communications. Additional courses this year include Computer Graphics, Robotics, Starting Your Own Business, Digital Technology, Audio/Video Presentation, Micro-Computer Applications and Conflict Resolution.

Classes are held 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Technology Training Center (TTC) located at 2500 E. Nine Mile Road near Dequindre in Warren, Mich. Applications for the program are available from your Local Joint Training Facilitator.

The first of three six-week sessions for the 2003-2004 school year begins Monday, Oct. 6.
