At the National Training Center, we're committed to helping workers reach their educational goals. After all, training is our middle name. Apprenticeship Program
New generations of skilled workers learn their trades through this oldest joint program, established in 1944.

Local Joint Training Facilitators
At each facility, a UAW Training Facilitator helps workers pursue educational goals, obtain information on NTC programs and coordinate on-site classes.
Local Joint Training Facilitators/Funds
Classes are offered at plants and parts distribution centers based on worker requests.
National Paid Educational Leave (PEL)
Individuals from both union and management explore the economic, political and technological factors affecting the auto industry and labor.
Skilled Trades Employment Preparation (STEPP)
Algebra and other math classes prepare workers to take the apprentice test.
Technology Training
Technical training for skilled trades workers and new apprentices are offered at the center.
Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) for UAW-represented Chrysler employees has been suspended due to severe financial constraints faced by the UAW-Chrysler National Training Center.
