Ask the Expert about Family Issues

Life's never easy, as everyone knows.

Whether it's handling single parenthood after a divorce or spotting Alzheimer's Disease in an elderly loved one, the everyday issues we face can seem overwhelming at times. The first step toward meeting such challenges often is having access to reliable information that can help us sort things out.

For UAW-represented Chrysler employees, finding that information may be as easy as coming to work. Ask the Expert is a program that brings specialists from various helping professions to Chrysler facilities for face-to-face meetings with workers.

Besides free consultations, the experts provide resource materials and referrals to help resolve work-life concerns. Ask the Expert is actually an enhancement to the UAW-Chrysler Family Resource and Referral Program, another Circle of Life service.

As the name of this program suggests, these folks know their stuff. The experts include licensed psychologists, social workers, employee assistance professionals and geriatric-care specialists. Depending on the schedule at your location, you can hook up with them at education fairs, town hall meetings or other informational sessions arranged by Local Joint Training Facilitators.

The topics offered also vary, depending on issues of greatest interest to employees at a particular location. So, whether you have 30 seconds or 30 minutes to spare, Ask the Expert. It may offer convenient answers to questions that sometimes make life a struggle.

The program covers the 47 topics listed below. If you're interested in talking to an expert about any of them, contact your Local Joint Training Facilitator.
